The thought of a boudoir session can feel intimidating. You want to do it but you don’t REALLY know what to expect or what it entails. Over the past 18 years I’ve been asked every imaginable question. If I don’t hit on yours here please contact me and ask. I’m happy to answer.
So I thought I’d put together a list of some of my most frequently asked questions to give you some more insight on what a boudoir session with me is like! A Boudoir Photo Session FAQ if you will.
Where will we do the photos are you like, at a hotel or your house?
I have a GORGEOUS 2000 square foot studio all decked out for boudoir in Henrico, VA. That’s where we do all of our sessions.

Do I have to do my own makeup and hair or do you guys do that for me?
I have a team of professional hair and makeup artists that I work with to provide you a makeover that suits you perfectly. We do all of the styling in house in the studio’s styling room. Your stylist will craft a look specific to you and your wishes.

Can I bring a friend for moral support?
Yes! You are totally welcome to bring a friend. They can hang out while you’re getting ready in the hair and makeup room. Then when the photography portion of the day starts they can either stay in the styling room or go grab a bite to eat, do some shopping and they are welcome to come sit with us after you’ve chosen your images at your image reveal. This session is 100% for YOU and onlookers can make you nervous, even the best of friends or partners.
How long does the session take?
You want to set aside the whole day to allow yourself the freedom to relax and enjoy being pampered and focused on. Again this day is 100% for YOU and giving yourself room to enjoy it is paramount. All said, we start at 10am and normally wrap up by 3pm.
When do I get to see the pictures?
Immediately after we wrap up the photography portion of the day. I don’t make you come back in 2 weeks or any of that. We do EVERYTHING on the same day. The next time you come back you’ll be picking up your album.
Are you going to edit my pictures?
Of course! In fact every image you’ve seen on my website, blog or social media has been edited. I take a light handed approach to editing so that you still look like you, just polished. I don’t catfish you with your own photos. You are amazingly beautiful as you are, I just want to remove the bumps, scratches, bruises and other what nots that won’t be there in 2 weeks.
What do people do with these types of photos?
Well, lots of things. Most of my clients opt for an album of their images. They are STUNNING when printed. And getting a piece for your wall to serve as a daily reminder of how totally fantastic you are is another way my clients celebrate themselves. We’ve got samples of everything is the studio for you to see and touch.

Are you going to share the pictures from my session on your social media and stuff like that?
No! Unless you want me to. One caveat here is that whoever wins the giveaway will be required to let us share some social media safe behind the scenes and a couple of images.
